Mirwaiz urges Centre to lift bans on Jammu groups

Kashmir chief cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on September 8 urged the Centre to revisit bans on social and political organisations in Jammu and Kashmir. He commented on a video by banned Jamaat-e-Islami ex-chief Ghulam Muhammad Bhat. The Ministry of Home Affairs banned the socio-religious JeI in 2019. Mirwaiz said attached properties need restraint under due process.
