Srirangapatna Dasara Mahotsava 2026 opened Thursday at Bannimantap, The Hindu reported. Actor V. Ravichandran offered floral tributes to Goddess Chamundeshwari to start festivities. Her idol rode in a 250-kg wooden howdah. Tusker Dhananjaya carried the howdah with elephants Lakshmi and Roopa through town. The procession featured 62 cultural troupes and 10 tableaux on Karnataka heritage.
