UN scales up Ebola response amid DR Congo violence

UN humanitarians said on July 17 they are scaling up Ebola response efforts in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo despite escalating violence and insecurity. OCHA reported 2,124 confirmed cases across Ituri, North Kivu, South Kivu, Haut-Uele and Tshopo. The outbreak was declared the third-largest on record.
