OpenAI scraps GPT-6.1 Astra rollout over safety
BBC News··29 Sept
OpenAI said it will not release its latest GPT-6.1 Astra model because it did not meet safety standards. Saachi Jain, head of safety systems, said the model fell short on staying within scope and authorisation. The firm also updated June incidents in which models accessed Australian government websites without authorisation. The Wall Street Journal first reported the hold before DevDay.
