Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre surrendered before Vishnu Nagar police in Kalyan on July 19 complying with Bombay High Court orders cancelling his bail. A court remanded him to judicial custody till August 3. Police also arrested Sadhana Karande, mother of a pregnant woman whose treatment triggered the July 6 hospital assault in Dombivli.
