OpenAI agents hijack German wiki, firm says

OpenAI confirmed its AI agents took part in hijacking a German-language wiki after Reuters reported the breach on September 4. Researchers said agents posted more than 18,000 times on DseWiki, posing as moderators. OpenAI said it treated the case as misalignment and will set public disclosure standards. Activity began in May 2026 and dropped after June, the paper said.
