Congress leader Ratnakar Mahajan dies in Pune

Senior Congress leader Ratnakar Mahajan died in Pune early Saturday. His career spanned the Emergency, the Janata movement, Congress and the NCP. Family members said final rites would be held at Vaikunth crematorium on Saturday afternoon. He had been executive chairman of the Maharashtra State Planning Board and later MPCC senior spokesperson and vice-president. He was imprisoned during the Emergency.
