Kerala orders probe after newborn needle negligence claim

Kerala ordered a separate probe into an alleged needle left in a newborn at Kottayam Government Medical College Hospital. Women and Child Development Minister Bindhu Krishna directed the inquiry. The State Commission for Protection of Child Rights also registered a case. Parents said surgery at Kozhikode MCH removed a needle-like object on July 10, 2026, after the child turned one.
