Jharkhand High Court stays cancellation of JPSC appointments

On 20 August 2026, the Jharkhand High Court stayed notifications cancelling appointments made through the 11th to 13th JPSC examinations. It also stayed the order cancelling food safety officer appointments. Advocate Amritansh Vats said the judge observed a violation of natural justice. The stay covers about 450 candidates. Why Appointees Went To Court After The Cabinet Note
- The 18 August notification followed an emergency Cabinet sitting chaired by Soren and listed cancellations across deputy collector, engineer, judge and other cadres as well as JSSC-CGL.
- Selected JSSC-CGL candidates had already protested in Ranchi that they stood to lose jobs after clearing an exam whose results, some said, were issued under prior court directions.
- Vats told reporters the judge's prima facie view was that cancellation without hearing the appointees violated natural justice.
