India's per capita CO2 among lowest in BRICS data

India's per capita CO2 emissions were among the lowest across most BRICS countries in the BRICS Joint Statistical Publication 2026. Figures for 2016-2022 show India's per capita emissions hovered around 2,000 kg, peaking at 2053.3 kg in 2022. Brazil recorded 6,005 kg, Russia 3,278 kg and South Africa 6,994 kg in the same year. China had no data.
