OpenAI will cut Cursor model access from November 12

OpenAI said on August 28 it will pull its models from Cursor, the SpaceX-owned coding tool, from November 12, 2026. It said it cannot be sure SpaceX will not violate its contract. Cursor co-founder Michael Truell said OpenAI models are about 5 percent of user traffic. SpaceX bought Anysphere, Cursor's parent, for $60 billion in stock.
