Naidu plans Chennai Airport rise to 55 million

Civil Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu said Terminal 5's 20 million capacity could take Chennai Airport near 55 million. A Rs 2,500 crore upgrade aims to lift capacity from 20 million to 25 million by April 2027. The airport handled 23 million passengers in 2025, from 13 million in 2013-14. Digi Yatra rose to 35 percent from 12 percent.
