Sachin Ahir elected Maharashtra council deputy chairman unopposed

Shiv Sena UBT MLC Sachin Ahir was elected unopposed as deputy Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council as the Mahayuti candidate on July 1. Opposition MVA had fielded Jagannath Abhyankar of Shiv Sena UBT, but Anil Parab withdrew the candidature on Legislative Affairs Minister Chandrakant Patil's appeal. Ahir filed nomination June 30 with CM Devendra Fadnavis and deputy CMs present.
