Shivamogga police arrest man for shooting neighbour's dog

Anandapura police in Shivamogga arrested Lingaraju for shooting a dog dead with a country-made firearm. Police said his pet had been attacked by a neighbour's dog, and he then killed that animal. He had no firearm licence. Charges cite Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Section 325, cruelty-to-animals law and the Arms Act. He was remanded to judicial custody.
