BJP names IAS officer Sharma for Nagaon Lok Sabha poll

Devashish Sharma received the BJP ticket for the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-poll a week after resigning as Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon. The 2011 Assam-Meghalaya cadre IAS officer retired on September 3 and joined the BJP on September 8. Congress MP Rakibul Hussain asked the Election Commission to review election decisions from Sharma's tenure as district election officer.
