Indonesian ferry leaves 6 dead after Java Sea distress

Indonesia's search and rescue agency said six people died and 107 were rescued from ferry Virgo Transport 8. The ship was carrying 243 people from Surabaya to Banjarmasin when it hit bad weather in the Java Sea. Authorities said the search for remaining passengers continues. It was last reported about 148 kilometres south of Banjarmasin near 02:00 local time Sunday.
