Moran, Motok groups begin Assam shutdown

Normal life was affected in Assam's Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts as Moran and Motok community organisations began a 48-hour shutdown. The protest targets their exclusion from the recently expanded Assam Cabinet and the delay in granting Scheduled Tribe status to the two indigenous communities.
