UAE expands east coast ports to bypass Hormuz

UAE adviser Anwar Gargash said the country is expanding east coast port capacity after months of Strait of Hormuz blockade. At the Hili Forum in Abu Dhabi, he said energy exports will not be held hostage. The UAE is also building pipelines, railways and alternative corridors. Before the disruption, about 40 percent of India's crude imports moved through Hormuz.
