7 Ethiopian armed groups form anti-Abiy alliance

Seven Ethiopian armed groups said late on Sunday they formed an alliance aimed at overthrowing Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government. The bloc includes the TPLF and the Amhara Fano National Movement, which fought on opposite sides in the 2020-2022 Tigray war. Federal spokespeople did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the Sunday announcement.
