Foreign passenger dies after Surat railway questioning

A foreign national died after collapsing while being questioned at a Railway Protection Force post in Surat on 17 August 2026. He had been taken off the Golden Temple Express after a quarrel. Police said the argument began over standing near a door, then he used a fire extinguisher on passengers. He was declared dead at SMIMER Hospital.
