Tamil Nadu breakfast scheme renamed after Kamaraj

The Tamil Nadu government renamed the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme as the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme and sanctioned Rs 217.63 crore for 2026-27. A July 15 order said the expanded programme covering Classes 6 to 8 will roll out from September 17. It will reach 12.87 lakh students across 15,454 government and aided schools statewide.
