North Korea fires missiles after 5-day allied drills

North Korea launched multiple short ballistic missiles from Wonsan toward its east coast around 5:20 a.m. Saturday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said. The launch followed the five-day Freedom Edge exercise with the U.S. and Japan that ended Friday. Seoul called the launch a serious UN Security Council violation and convened an emergency security review.
