Envoy says Modi wants Rahman India visit memorable

Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi said on 18 August 2026 that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's proposed India visit to be memorable. Speaking in Dhaka to business leaders and a CII delegation, he quoted Modi as saying the two leaders need to meet. The trip remains unsettled after strain over Sheikh Hasina.
