Tamil Nadu weighs abolishing State Planning Commission

Tamil Nadu's TVK government is considering abolishing the State Planning Commission, a senior official told The Hindu. Vice-Chairperson and full-time member posts remain vacant after the DMK-era team resigned. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is ex-officio Chairperson; only a Member-Secretary is in place now. Officials say subject-specific expert committees could replace the standing planning body.
