The Election Commission of India on Saturday met two Trinamool Congress factions claiming the party name, symbol and control. The dispute pits Mamata Banerjee’s group against rebels led by Ritabrata Banerjee. Bypolls for Nandigram and Rejinagar are on October 6, with nominations due by September 16. Both sides asked for a quick order. No formal decision has been issued yet.
