Afghanistan opened their Asian Games 2026 men's cricket campaign with a 48-run win over hosts Japan at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin on Thursday. Afghanistan made 129 for 6 in 20 overs. Japan were bowled out for 81 in 19.3 overs. Mohammad Akram top-scored with 34 off 29 balls. Nangeyalia Kharote took 3 for 19.
