EU steel cap at 18.3 million tonnes hits Ukraine exports
BBC News·
Metinvest chief Yuriy Ryzhenkov asked the EU to drop steel import curbs that bundle Ukraine with China. The bloc capped tax-free steel at 18.3 million tonnes yearly, a 47 percent cut from 2024 levels. Ryzhenkov said Ukraine's industry estimates EU exports could fall 50 to 60 percent. Almost 800 Metinvest workers have been killed since Russia's 2022 invasion, he said.
