SC closes disability-remark cases against Samay Raina

The Supreme Court on August 14 quashed criminal proceedings against comedian Samay Raina and four others over remarks about persons with disabilities on India's Got Latent. Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana also closed the matter against Vipul Goyal, Balraj Ghai, Sonali Thakkar and Nishant Tanwar. The bench kept a larger dignity issue pending.
