Meta disrupts NSO-linked WhatsApp phishing attempts

Meta said it disrupted a fresh wave of spear-phishing attacks against WhatsApp users after investigating user reports. The company alleged the attempts were carried out by an entity linked to Israel’s NSO Group, known for Pegasus spyware. Attackers allegedly tried to trick users into clicking malicious links to external websites.
