Sonam Wangchuk refused intravenous fluids, oral rehydration and medication at Safdarjung Hospital on July 18 despite dehydration and metabolic abnormalities, hospital authorities said. Delhi Police shifted him at 7.40 am on day 21 of his Jantar Mantar hunger strike. Blood tests showed compensated acidosis and decreased potassium. His wife sought discharge and barred treatment without her consent.
