Assam completes Rs 7 crore Saraighat Bridge rehabilitation

Northeast Frontier Railway completed a Rs 7 crore rehabilitation of Assam's Saraighat Bridge, commissioned in 1962. Work ran from July 13, 2026 to September 15, 2026. NFR CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma said inspections found damage to the road deck, expansion joints and steel members. Eight of 11 expansion joints were repaired to support Delhi-Guwahati rail movement.
