The Karnataka Planters' Association said the Coffee Board's 2.79 lakh tonne post-blossom estimate for the state faces a downward revision. President Salman Baseer cited rainfall deficits, uneven monsoons and pests in Arabica zones. Karnataka has 71 percent of India's coffee output. KPA also restated objections to the draft Western Ghats ESA covering 56,825.7 sq km.
