Trump announces Essar-backed $18 billion US steel plan
The Indian Express··29 Sept
President Donald Trump announced an $18-billion Essar-backed Mesabi Metallics plan for integrated American steel. It pairs a $15 billion Iowa steel complex with $3 billion already invested in Minnesota iron ore mining. Essar vice-chairman Ravi Ruia and Mesabi chairman Rewant Ruia attended the White House event. Mesabi calls the Iowa project the largest single-location integrated steel investment in US history.
