IMD sees Bay low deepening as monsoon exits Rajasthan

India's 2026 monsoon has begun retreating from north-west India about two days later than normal, BusinessLine reported. National rainfall was 15 percent below normal as of Saturday, with the South Peninsula 28 percent short. The IMD expects a Bay low to become a depression by Monday and possibly a deep depression by Tuesday near the south Odisha-north Andhra coast.
