Assaulted Dombivli doctor resigns fearing for his safety

A 26-year-old resident medical officer at KDMC Shastri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli resigned on July 8 after being assaulted by Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre and supporters on July 7, Scroll reported citing The Indian Express and NDTV. The doctor said he left the city after threats and would never return. Mhatre surrendered and was arrested on July 9 evening.
