Sensex Nifty slump as West Asia tensions lift oil prices

Indian benchmark indices slumped in early trade on Monday amid escalating West Asia tensions and rising crude oil prices, The Hindu reported. The BSE Sensex fell 616.15 points to 76,946.97 and the NSE Nifty dropped 190.50 points to 24,015 after two days of gains, with Brent crude up 3.96 per cent at 79.02 dollars a barrel.
