UFBU strike closes public sector bank branches

Banking services at public sector banks were impacted on Friday after the United Forum of Bank Unions called a nationwide strike for a five-day workweek. The UFBU represents seven unions covering 90 percent of officer and employee strength. Most PSB branches were fully or partly closed. Private banks were unaffected. Digital services including UPI and internet banking remained functional.
