What It Means For You

  • An AQI between 101 and 200 is moderate under CPCB bands, while 201 to 300 is poor.
  • Mundka, Narela, Jahangirpuri and Okhla were among the highest station readings on Sunday.
  • IMD said skies may turn partly cloudy from Tuesday, still without rain in the week ahead.

What's Happening

  • City AQI rose to 196 at 10 a.m., above Thursday's 166, Friday's 174 and Saturday's 171.
  • Delhi Cantonment recorded the lowest reading at 115.
  • The Sunday minimum temperature was 24.1 C, with a maximum likely between 35 and 37 C.

Why levels climbed this week

  • Officials linked the rise to missing rain, slow wind speeds and localised emissions.
  • PM10 was the dominant pollutant while the index stayed in the higher moderate band earlier in the week.
  • The previous higher mark in the cited series was 246 on July 13.
