Delhi plan lists four NCR high-speed road corridors

Delhi Master Plan 2047, unveiled on 20 August 2026, lists four high-speed road corridors meant to link the capital with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. One extends Urban Extension Road-I from NH-1 toward the Loni-Baghpat Expressway for Sonipat, Narela and Bawana traffic. Another extends Urban Extension Road-II from NH-8 and Dwarka toward the Greater Noida Expressway and Jewar airport.

What It Means For You
- If you drive Sonipat-Narela-Bawana toward Ghaziabad, the plan's first corridor is meant as an alternative to entering inner Delhi.
- Anyone using NH-48 or the Dwarka Expressway can note a separate Dwarka Sector 21 to HUDA City Centre link is listed to take some of that load.
- If you travel between IGI and Jewar, the UER-II southern extension is the road piece the plan names for that airport-to-airport hop.
What's Happening
- The four links were presented as part of Master Plan 2047, not as roads that have already been built.
- Planners described them as an orbital set serving Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Sonipat and Gurugram without a mandatory pass through central Delhi.
- The same plan also lists metro expansion, RRTS corridors and, separately, congestion charges for some NCR entries.
How These Four Links Sit Inside Master Plan 2047
- Urban Extension Roads I and II already exist in parts of west and north-west Delhi. The 2047 text is about stretching those alignments into UP and Haryana.
- Jewar is Noida International Airport. Linking it by road to IGI is listed alongside rail and other modes in the same transport chapter.
- AIIMS Jhajjar is a medical and teaching campus west of Delhi. The Dwarka-Jhajjar corridor is the Haryana-facing leg of the four-road set.
