No decision to raise ethanol blending beyond twenty percent

Union Minister of State for Petroleum Suresh Gopi told Rajya Sabha on July 20 that no decision has been taken to increase ethanol blending in petrol beyond the present 20 percent or to introduce ethanol blending in diesel for commercial use. Any future decision would require scientific evaluation, vehicle compatibility studies and stakeholder consultations, he said in a written reply.
