TakeMe2Space signs 23 customers for SpaceX satellite
The Indian Express··28 Sept
Indian startup TakeMe2Space plans to launch an orbital computing satellite on a SpaceX rocket on October 1. The MOI-1A craft is a sub-50 kg satellite with Nvidia Orin NX processors on the Transporter-18 rideshare. The company said it has signed 23 customers for the mission. The spacecraft has about 150 watts of power, founder Ronak Samantray said.

What It Means For You
- Customers can upload containerised AI models that process data in orbit instead of downloading raw feeds.
- Commercial users span agriculture, mining, supply-chain management and insurance, the company said.
- US firm Little Place Labs is among the signed customers for the first mission.
What's Happening
- MOI-1A is scheduled to fly on SpaceX's Transporter-18 rideshare on October 1.
- TakeMe2Space describes the craft as an onboard edge-computing satellite rather than a full orbital data centre.
- A later MOI-1 satellite was lost after a launch-vehicle third-stage failure, following a late-2024 tech demo.
What the startup is building next
- The firm designs and manufactures most satellite subsystems in India while sourcing chips and solar cells abroad.
- It plans larger networked satellites from 2027 to raise computing capacity and cut costs.
- Longer-term plans include cold storage in orbit for financial-services and defence backup data.
