SC rejects Kerala professor bail in student suicide case

The Hindu reported that the Supreme Court on Monday, July 13, rejected anticipatory bail for Kerala dental professor M.K. Ram, accused of abetting first-year BDS student Nithin Raj's suicide on campus. Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta called classroom humiliation inhuman and said such conduct with students must be dealt with sternly by courts this month.
