Gujarat floods kill thirty one as waters recede

Intense monsoon rain left at least thirty one dead in Gujarat as receding floodwaters exposed devastation on July 25. Navsari reported fifteen deaths, Valsad seven, Kheda four and Surat two, mostly from drowning. About thirty eight thousand people were relocated, mainly from Navsari and Valsad, while three hundred fifty two were rescued across the state.
