USTR proposes 12.5 percent duties on India

The U.S. Trade Representative has proposed 12.5 percent additional duties on imports from 54 countries, including India, over alleged failures to prohibit imports made with forced labour. The action follows investigations into 60 economies. India denied the allegations and asked Washington to address such issues within ongoing bilateral trade talks as bilateral trade talks continue.
