Census enumeration begins December 1 in 4 poll-bound states

Population enumeration for Census 2027 will begin in Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and parts of Uttarakhand on December 1, 2026, the Registrar General of India said Saturday. Door-to-door counting runs through January 4, 2027, with a revisional round from January 5 to January 9. Residents can use self-enumeration from November 16 to November 30, 2026.
