India opens bullet train section in 2027 with indigenous train

Railway officials said on July 17 that India will start Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed operations with an indigenous train at 280 kmph on the Surat-Bilimora section by August 2027. Japan will supply E10 Shinkansen sets in the early 2030s. Siemens won the signalling tender. MEA rejected former minister Makihara's delay remarks as at variance with facts on the project.
