Sensex falls 777.94 points as crude and yields jump

The BSE Sensex fell 777.94 points, or 1.04 percent, to 74,003.82 on Tuesday as crude, US bond yields and a weaker rupee hit equities. The NSE Nifty 50 dropped 279.50 points, or 1.19 percent, to 23,118.60, its lowest close since April 6, 2026. Brent crude hovered near $107 to $108 a barrel. India's August retail inflation rose to 4.82 percent.
