MP Sleemanabad water tunnel nears completion after 17 years

Madhya Pradesh's Sleemanabad Tunnel, part of the Bargi Diversion Project, is nearing completion with only one metre of tunnelling remaining after nearly 17 years of construction on July 16. The 11.952-km tunnel with 10.14-metre diameter will carry Narmada water to the Son river basin through gravity flow. It will irrigate nearly 2.45 lakh hectares across six districts.
