CID arrests wife and brother of exam-case accused

Jharkhand CID on 18 August 2026 arrested Sushma Kumari and Akshay Tiwari, the wife and brother of Abhay Tiwari, a key accused in recruitment exam irregularities. They were questioned for several hours before arrest. Abhay, a block supply officer in Godda, was arrested on 22 July. With these two, 22 people are now in custody.

- Investigators are checking application forms, evaluation records and selection lists from those agencies.
- Akshay Tiwari is already a government employee and had cleared the 14th JPSC preliminary test, officials said.
