Supreme Court to frame SOP for after-hours urgent petitions

The Supreme Court on July 14 agreed to devise a standard operating procedure to hear urgent petitions threatening life and liberty after official court hours. A bench of CJI Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V. Mohana entertained a PIL by advocate Maheravish Rein citing a case where police took away an inter-faith couple instead of providing security.
